OPERA TOTALE is born from
a strong extrasensory experience lived by Màlleus himself.
Màlleus is a poly-instrumentalist composer and a tireless searcher
after emotional atmospheres and after moods when back in 1978 at the
age of twenty-five he does a strange and risky extrasensory experiment
(only few details of it are known) in the Ottonis Stronghold
in Marches region in Italy. This causes in the young artist a stimulus
to go through new composition ways, particularly in the Musicotherapy
field, and to do closer studies in the psyche field.
After having realized in 1988-90 the very successful OPERA I°
(12), a test-demo of OPERA TOTALE, Màlleus is now presenting
his complete work, purged by a long intellectual, psychical and spiritual
toil and sifted by the artistic maturity.
Like a magic journey, it inspires in the listener a sensation of harmonious
impressiveness that, thanks to its own evocative power, is able to
transmit the message that is the main thread of the whole music: the
strengthening of Will that leads man to consciousness of his
inner divine spark and to the way towards the light.
OPERA TOTALE can be defined as extraordinary and dramatic, epic and
mysterious, liberating and psychical, original and ancient, it is
as ancient as the man because the course of this Opus
is the search for good and evil inside man, inside his Psyche.
After the enormous work carried out for its recording (2 years
of Recording studio + 25 days of mixing) and the great number of people
(about 1,000) among Orchestras, Choirs, singers, musicians, actors,
research groups in the fields of Musicotherapy, Psyche and Esotericism,
it is not possible to play this Opus live.
So is born the idea of realizing an event that is unique of its kind,
a listening that revolutionizes the idea of how perceiving music:
the brilliant idea of inserting certain smells and particular perfumes
at some definite points of the music has marked a definitive turning
point in the show, making it unique on a world scale.
So is born the 1st Audio-Olfactory concerto in the history of music.
Since about six months in the Malleus Studios
workrooms a team of technicians, is getting ready two gigantic olfactory
diffusers called perfuming Organs because of their particular
shape like that of an Organ with pipes made of copper. They are able
to cover great areas in few seconds with smells and perfumes that
are perfectly tuned with the music.
Summing of music and perfume causes a really
upsetting effect since you have the sensation of being able to touch
with your hand the single notes of music and of living personally
the composition as if it was your own composition.
In short it is a show where strong emotions and sensations, that in
most music are so rare, are with the audience for the whole 45 minutes.
